Taking charge as the new captain of a squad of smoke jumpers should provide him with enough adrenaline to chase away the ghosts from his past. Until a sexy, green-eyed temptress with a sassy mouth enters the picture…

Laurel Keenan, champion horsewoman, couldn’t wait to escape her hometown. But instead, an ailing mother and an unplanned pregnancy landed the impetuous dreamer right back on her father’s ranch. Laurel has managed to lead a quiet life with her young son—until she sets eyes on the tough guy with the sexy ass.

Sam already failed one woman; he won’t trust his heart with another. And Laurel is determined not to risk her heart—or her son’s—on another thrill-seeker. Can their slow burn lead to a love that lasts?

This is book one in The Firefighters of Montana series and it features Laurel Keenan and Sam Gaskill. The attraction between these two was incredibly strong from the moment they met. I love these two! Laurel has no brain-to-mouth filter and Sam is the brooding, sexy Captain. They both have their reasons to keep it casual but things don't always work out that way. Laurel's son Tyson is a little cutie. I really liked that his father was involved and he wasn't a total failure as a part-time father. Fantastic story in an equally fantastic series. I can't wait to read the next book!

Sam Gaskill is a former Army Ranger who is starting over after loosing his wife. Laurel Keenan is a single mom to a young boy. The two meet as Sam is dropping his late wife's horse off at The Whispering Breeze Ranch for training. I really enjoyed this book. It held my interest from start to finish and was just a happy story. I'm really looking forward to continuing the series.

I liked this story of Laurel and Sam. Laurel is a very impulsive woman, and she sure gave Sam a run for his money. They were both quite stubborn. But there was more than enough heat between them as well. This is a great start to the Firefighters series. I really love reading about sexy firemen.
  • Sexy Smoke Jumpers!!

Your summer will be getting a little hotter with this series of sexy smoke jumpers. This is the first book series and I loved it. Sam is in need of a change after his first wife dies. He moves to Glacier Creek, Montana to be in charge of a group of smoke jumpers. Lauren's dreams have been put on hold with an unplanned pregnancy and her ill mother. They are brought together my Sam's deceased wife's horse. Can they open their hearts up again to find love. A sizzling attraction between them immediately. A fast paced novella with a packed full story, that will keep your turning the pages. Characters that you will fall in love with. I can't wait to read the other books in this series.

Smolder by Tracy Solheim is the first book in the Firefighter of Montana series. Sam Gaskill is a former Army Ranger who is starting over in Glacier Creek, Montana, far from Texas and the memories of his late wife. Sam does bring her horse along to board at a nearby ranch. He has become the new captain of a squad of smoke jumpers which will fuel his need for adrenaline. He is hopeful that all of these changes will chase away the ghosts from his past. Laurel Keenan was a champion horsewoman who couldn’t wait to leave her hometown. Instead, an unplanned pregnancy and knowledge that her mother is ill brings her back to her parents’ ranch. Laurel gave up her studies and dream to become an artist to lead a quiet life with her young son. Laurel runs into Sam shortly after his horse is delivered to her dad’s ranch. This meeting sets off an attraction between these two and their chemistry sizzles. Sam believes he failed one woman and is not ready to seek another. Laurel guards her heart, needing to put her son first, and unsure she is ready for a relation. This was a fun and entertaining story with likeable characters that you want to support and cheer on hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written and complex. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I really enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down because Tracy Solheim is a wonderful story teller. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
