Description

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Do you ever suspect that everyone else has life figured out and you don’t have a clue? If so, Rachel Hollis has something to tell you: that’s a lie.

As the founder of the lifestyle website TheChicSite.com and CEO of her own media company, Rachel Hollis developed an immense online community by sharing tips for better living while fearlessly revealing the messiness of her own life. Now, in this challenging and inspiring new book, Rachel exposes the twenty lies and misconceptions that too often hold us back from living joyfully and productively, lies we’ve told ourselves so often we don’t even hear them anymore.

With painful honesty and fearless humor, Rachel unpacks and examines the falsehoods that once left her feeling overwhelmed and unworthy, and reveals the specific practical strategies that helped her move past them. In the process, she encourages, entertains, and even kicks a little butt, all to convince you to do whatever it takes to get real and become the joyous, confident woman you were meant to be.

With unflinching faith and rock-hard tenacity, Girl, Wash Your Face shows you how to live with passion and hustle--and how to give yourself grace without giving up.

I bought this book because I noticed it’s a best seller self help book and it had some really good advice through out the book. But what I wasn’t expecting was chapter 14. I myself have lost a brother to suicide and reading chapter 14 was a message from god through Rachel Hollis. I cried like a baby while reading her experience and needed to hear her words after the fact. I loved this book and shared some passages with family members who could use her words. Thank you Rachel! I had such a good cry and breakthrough threw this book or shall I say chapter 14 alone.

She sounds very approachable. I’m inspired by her use of goal setting. She is funny and creative. This is the first book I have read from her. I didn’t realize there was another one. I look forward to reading the other one. I love how she used the goal Louis Vuitton purse. It’s funny because that has been my goal for years! I also go to the store and have them take it so I can touch it. I own my own cleaning company and one of my clients has at least 20 in her closet. I go into her closet and dream that I will get it. I’m a purse junky. It gives me happiness. I’m also impressed that her husband left Disney to be her ceo. My husband supports me in what every I do. I am the main bread winner. He is able to go out and achieve our goals of helping people with addictions it’s our non profit spiritual roads. God has called us to do that and has blessed us with support from our community. The drug addictions and transits is unbelievable. If we can help we will. That has been our goal for years. We visualize it. Thank you for writing this book. It’s a encouraging. I’m also a visual person. FYI her son and I both have January birthdays lol and she also share our faith.

I started reading this today because I desperately needed a distraction, and I didn’t stop until I finished it. Maybe it’s because I needed to hear it all, maybe it’s because I’m super sick and needed an excuse to just sit down, maybe it’s because I didn’t even want to face the world today anyway, but I promise you this book is worth your time. If you haven’t read it, read it, I will definitely read it again & again. If you’re looking for a gift for an adult female who reads, or even who doesn’t, this is a great option. And if you’re a woman I care about you can probably expect to receive a copy of this for the next giftable occasion! I’m also certain I need to read Girl, Stop Apologizing as much as I needed to read this one lol so it’s definitely in my future. Next stop: making post-its out of all the sections I highlighted so I can make sure I turn this motivation into action!

Such an uplifting and inspirational book. I think if someone is literally just surviving right now and in need of motivation and women empowerment to get yourself up and started on your dream, this is your book! Great job Rachel!

She basically says the same thing over and over. “Everything happens for a reason” and “Talk to a therapist to get help”. The majority of the book is the story of her life and how she coped with her specific struggles (most of which were not relatable to me personally. I was pretty bored.

I have to say,the book was great. But -1 ⭐️. Not everybody has the exact same problems as you. I can see that you wrote this for the people that DO have the same problems as you. But write more books about different problems. Not your own.
