Walk the Line by J. Kenner is the final book in her new 12 book Man of the Month series. Told in dual POV this final story is that of Brent and Elena. Brent has been with us since the beginning, a steadfast secondary character, a co-owner of the fix and a single dad. He has managed to keep himself closed off to relationships for the sake of his daughter but Elena breaks his walls down further than any woman ever has before. For her, he may just be willing to risk not just his heart but his daughter Faith's also. Well-written and well-paced, this was a wonderful close to the series and a great read. Enjoy!

I'm sad the saga has come to an end. I've enjoyed this journey. It started out with a bang and it with a sigh. A good sigh. I've really felt like these characters grew on me. They feel like family. The only downfall I see is that this book was way too short. I'd like to have seen it as a novel. I think there's potential for it being extended. It just feels like there's more to the story. This was a great, yet short read. I throughly enjoyed it.

Readers who have been with the series since its introduction should be more than familiar with the hero of Walk the Line. Brent’s been in the background of the series as the bar’s head of security, watching his friends find their happily ever after but never wanting to risk his own heart because he’s still not over what his ex did to him and their daughter. Until her. But besides Brent’s fears and insecurities when it comes to the opposite sex and his need to protect his daughter at all costs is a set of circumstances that could upend all facets of his life, which means that he knows he needs to walk the line and not cross it in a way that could hurt all those involved in his life - the only problem is that one despite the age difference and despite the fact that she’s the daughter of his boss, the connection they share burns bright and it becomes something essential to both of them. I can’t believe we’re already at Mr. December. It seems like I just started J. Kenner’s Man of the Month series, and now it’s time to meet the final calendar hottie and see what happens with The Fix on 6th since besides the characters finding love, the push to save the bar is at the forefront of each book, and although Walk the Line brings everything to a close, hopefully keeping the beloved bar open, let’s just say J. Kenner definitely brings the couples of this series and the bar that brought them together to a satisfying ending with a few surprises! 4 Poison Apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews)

I have been patiently waiting for Brent's story since the beginning. The single dad really grabbed my attention! I loved his inner struggle with wanting to love Elena and letting her go because he was afraid to let someone into his and his daughter's life again. Elena was a strong female character and was perfectly paired with Brent. It was great to see a recap of all of the couples at the end of the story. Once again though, I found myself wanting more story here. I think this whole series was good, but I love a book with so much more detail and story. This was another good read though.

The last of 12 books, in the Man of the Month series, was fantastic. Brent has been my constant favorite throughout the series so his book was especially a happy read! I love how everything ties together in the epilogue too! The romance is off the chart hot and is a great quick read.

Meet Mr December, our favorite Fix on Sixth security guard, Brent. When Brent meets Elena, can he go with his heart or will his brain keep winning trying to protect Faith? What can they do when trouble starts brewing around the Fix? Read to get a great conclusion for all 12 of our couples on this series.

This is the twelfth and final book in the Man of the Month series ☹️. This is the story is Brent and Elena. Julie Kenner does not disappoint. Brent is a single dad that does security that The Fix on Sixth which he also own a third of. One of the others who own a third is Tyree, who is also Elena’s father. So this all complicates thing for them as Brent tries hard to resist his feelings. This is a must read along with the other elven.
  • Great ending for the series!

Who better to end the Man of the Month series than with Brent and Elena. This was a fun and quick read with a few little twists thrown in. It was nice to see the other couples and catch up with a few. It would be a great idea to have all of the books rolled into one. All in all, this whole series was great for the times that you want to read something not too intense.
  • Sweet, Sexy & Satisfying Conclusion

“Electricity arced through him, but he stood frozen, afraid that if he even breathed he’d lose it. But oh, how he wanted to move. Wanted to touch her. Wanted to wake her, then kiss her. Wanted to do all sorts of things he shouldn’t want to do at all. And yet he did want to. He wanted to desperately.” Brent and Elena bring the Man of the Month series to a sweet, steamy & satisfying conclusion with their single dad/ younger woman/ best friend’s daughter storyline. Like the other books in this series, it serves up some very hot action interspersed with touching personal moments. I was more moved by the finale of this series than I expected to be. Some couples were more memorable than others, some more endearing, but in the end everyone connected to this bar became family. And it’s not always the family we’re born into that matters, sometimes it’s the friends we chose who become our family that mean the most in the end.

“...how long are you going to hide behind what ifs?” It was bittersweet to crack open this read knowing it was the last of the series. However~I loved so much about this book. It has chemistry, humor, hope, fear, mystery, second chances, mature characters and fairytale endings. “...did she even know what she was offering? Because he wanted a lot. Too bad he couldn’t take what she was offering.” When it just isn’t your heart you are protecting you need to be cautious...but are you hurting others more by playing the what if game? When do you give someone a chance and stop holding others actions and faults against them? When do you give yourself permission to be happy, start over and not always plan the ending. “...he was looking right at her, and she was starting to feel a little drunk as she stared into those whiskey colored eyes.” This series has been so fun to read. Each book had me failing more in love with The Fix Family. I also loved the recap of the series that was intertwined in this book and had you remembering all the great couples we met throughout the calendar contest. My heart was truly tugged throughout this book.
