Description

She is the greatest assassin her world has ever known.
But does she have the heart of a killer?

After a year of hard labor in the Salt Mines of Endovier, eighteen-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien has won the king's contest to become the new royal assassin. But Calaena is far from loyal to the crown. Keeping up the charade - while pretending to do the king's bidding - will test her skills in an entirely new way. And it certainly isn't the only point of confusion for the young girl. Because though she's made her choice between Dorian and Chaol, the ways of the heart are never simple...

There is not denying that the plot in the book is riveting. SJM is a good writer. The only reasons this book has three stars is because a): I love Chaol and wish that they had continued their relationship. And b): NEHEMIA! Nooooooo! She was my fav character! That’s why this book has three stars
  • Ehhh pretty bad, not the worst book I've ever read but I'm sad I spent money on this :(

Idk man it's better than the first one I'll give SJM that but it still falls super flat in a lot of places. This book takes itself far too seriously for my liking and then it has the balls to fail at being a serious book bc SJM will try to incorporate comedic elements but it's never funny and adds absolutely nothing to the story. It's just not good, and I'm trying so hard to like this books series but I legit just can't rip in the chat.
