Description

Born under a hunter’s moon, abandoned as a child, I was raised to be a powerful sorceress—okay, a mediocre sorceress. All right, I’m good at glamour and can make things sparkle, if my spells don’t backfire. It was foretold long ago that I was a child of prophecy that would unite the fae and humans of Candor. The only problem, no one told me, and now the king wants me dead.
For I am Eden, one of the adoptive daughters of Lady Eville, and I have to attend the royal masquerade ball—not to win a prince, but to avenge my parents. Even if it means pretending to be a fairy godmother and wreaking a little havoc.

I had no idea what to expect when I started reading, but I was quickly pulled into the story and followed the main character, Eden, with interest. Her transition from a person with many insecurities to a powerful character was written so well! I can’t recommend this book enough!

Of Glass and Glamor is the second book in The Daughters of Eville series and it’s a new take on classic Cinderella. Eden Eville is the second oldest daughter of Mother Eville and the self proclaimed least magical of the family. Eden is self conscious and unsure of her powers, this at times makes life harder for her. Eden is a extremely likable character and through out the whole book you are rooting for her to realize how awesome she actually is. As with the first book, Mother Eville sends her daughter to a kingdom to seek revenge. Eville and her daughters are portrayed to the rest of the kingdoms as evil and scary witches to be feared, when in reality I think Eville is just waiting until the perfect time to right many wrongs and Edens story is no exception. Get the shoes, get the guy, and get revenge. The only advice given to her by her adoptive mother. Sounds easy but it proves to be difficult with all of the twists and turns along the way. If you liked the first book this is a must read. I couldn’t put the book down and when it was over I was longing for more. I can’t wait for Meri’s story next in Of Sea and Song

I was so thrilled to see the second book to the daughters of Eville series because I fell in love with the first. Honestly this is great as a stand alone with the perfect layers to add to the series. I instantly felt connected to Eden with her feelings of not being good enough because honestly who doesn’t from time to time? She grows so much in this enchanting story that makes my heart swell to see a strong female lead that truly finds herself. Reading series after series from this author I can say her writing has grown so much. I couldn’t find one thing wrong in this story and loved that any question I had along the way was answered. If you’re looking for a book that will engage you and bring you into its world well this is the book for you! Enjoy.. you can thank me later.

Be prepared to dive deep into Eden’s world, and hang on for a awesome ride. This series is out of this world. The world building, and descriptions had be visioning a beautiful world. I very much enjoyed diving more into the Fae creatures in this book. The descriptions of each and what they do. Loved it!! This book was so hard to put down. It was amazing. I highly recommend this series!! I love how each book of this series is written as a stand alone and yet they all work well together as a series. Can’t wait to read Meri’s tale next!!
  • Another great book!
